Summit Hyperbarics & Wellness is an independent Idaho nonprofit healthcare organization providing evidence-based Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and clinical research for Idaho's defined charitable populations. Every service we provide is made possible through charitable funding, allowing eligible participants to receive specialized care without financial barriers.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy involves breathing 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber under the supervision of trained healthcare professionals. Increasing the amount of oxygen delivered throughout the body may support healing and recovery for certain medical conditions.
Individuals interested in Summit's services begin by connecting with Operation Resilient Path (ORP), the participant navigation program for the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse campus. ORP helps determine whether an individual meets the population criteria for one of Summit's charitable programs and, when appropriate, connects them with Summit to begin the clinical evaluation process.

Summit serves specific charitable populations based on established program criteria. Current populations include:
- Current, active, and engaged Mission43 members
- Eligible Idaho Challenged Athletes Foundation participants
- Eligible Idaho first responders
- Eligible Idaho veterans
Eligibility requirements vary by charitable program.
Not necessarily. Meeting the population criteria for one of Summit's charitable programs is the first step. Every individual who connects with Summit completes a comprehensive clinical evaluation to determine whether Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is clinically appropriate.
Summit's primary clinical focus includes:
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Persistent Post-Concussive Symptoms (PPCS)
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Other conditions may also be evaluated when treatment is consistent with Summit's charitable mission and determined to be clinically appropriate.

HBOT is not appropriate for every medical condition or every individual. If Summit determines that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is not appropriate, our clinical team will discuss that decision with you and answer any questions you may have.

What to Expect in Care
Evaluation, planning, and provider coordination.
Your first visit includes medical and behavioral health assessments, baseline questionnaires, and a comprehensive clinical evaluation. This information helps determine whether HBOT is clinically appropriate and supports development of an individualized treatment plan.
Treatment plans vary based on each participant's individual needs. If HBOT is recommended, your healthcare team will review your treatment schedule and explain what to expect throughout your care.
Yes. Summit's services are designed to complement—not replace—the care provided by your existing healthcare providers. Participants are encouraged to continue working with their healthcare team throughout treatment.
Yes. Behavioral health support is an integrated component of Summit's Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy program. Participants receiving HBOT meet regularly with one of Summit's licensed behavioral health providers throughout their treatment experience.
Summit does not provide standalone outpatient behavioral health services.
Research
Participation and Studies
Participation is voluntary and never required for care.
No. Participation in research is always voluntary and is never required to receive clinical care.
Most research opportunities are available to individuals receiving care through Summit. Following your clinical evaluation, you may be invited to participate in a research study if you meet that study's eligibility criteria.

Temporary lodging may be available for eligible participants traveling from outside the Treasure Valley while receiving services through Summit. Housing is owned and managed by the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse. Operation Resilient Path can provide information regarding availability and eligibility.
