Clinical Areas of Focus

Individualized Care Based on Clinical Evaluation

Summit Hyperbarics & Wellness provides Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to eligible participants when treatment is determined to be clinically appropriate.

Every participant receives a comprehensive evaluation to determine whether HBOT aligns with their medical history, current health, treatment goals, and overall clinical presentation.

Our clinical focus reflects both the charitable populations we serve and the growing body of scientific evidence supporting HBOT.

Primary Clinical Focus

Summit's Current Core Areas of Clinical Emphasis

Summit's current clinical focus includes participants experiencing:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Persistent Post-Concussive Symptoms (PPCS)
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

These conditions represent the primary focus of Summit's clinical expertise, charitable programs, ongoing research, and outcome evaluation.

For deeper detail on these diagnoses and related symptoms, visit our Conditions page.

Other Conditions

Considered When Clinically Appropriate

HBOT has been studied for a wide range of medical conditions. Summit may evaluate other conditions when:

  • The individual meets the eligibility requirements for one of Summit's charitable programs.
  • HBOT is determined to be clinically appropriate.
  • Treatment is consistent with Summit's charitable mission.
  • Appropriate clinical resources are available.
  • Treatment can be safely provided within Summit's hyperbaric program.

Every treatment recommendation is individualized and based on the participant's clinical presentation, professional medical judgment, and the best available scientific evidence.

When HBOT May Not Be Appropriate

Clinical Suitability Is Determined Through Evaluation

HBOT is not appropriate for every medical condition or every individual.

Throughout the evaluation process, Summit may determine that HBOT or participation in the treatment program is not appropriate. If that occurs, our clinical team will discuss the decision and the factors that contributed to it with the participant.

Because Summit provides specialized hyperbaric medicine within a defined episode of care, we do not provide ongoing primary medical or behavioral healthcare.

Every Participant Is Unique

Diagnosis Alone Does Not Determine Appropriateness

A diagnosis alone does not determine whether HBOT is appropriate.

Treatment recommendations are based on each participant's medical history, current health, clinical presentation, treatment goals, and the best available scientific evidence.

Final treatment decisions are made by Summit's Medical Director using professional medical judgment and the individual circumstances of each participant.
